The Look - Wedding Joy

Hi everybody, I've recently attended the wedding of a dear friend of mine. Since she is in fashion and so are most of her friends, I felt a little nervous when picking the outfit for the party. I wanted to look good, event-appropriate, fashionable and not feel out of place.
Pictures were taken by my friend, make up artist and photographer Chloe Battesti.

Beauty Tips - YSL Touche D'Eclat

On my fashion night out's perusal I discovered my newest cosmetic favorite: YSL touche d'eclat concealer.
This lightweight concealer gives you just enough coverage without the occasional lump. The skin is left uniform and radiant looking since its luminous points give you that magazine-cover glow usually acquired through Photoshop.
Needless to say that I am completely addicted to it!

The Look - My friend is a shoe designer, what about yours?

I have to admit, I am pretty well connected. My circle of friends ranges from make up artists, hair dressers, photographers, and several fashion designers since I majored in fashion design. One of these good friends, Fabi Mauricio is a shoe designer.
She is not just any shoe designer. Her mind-blowing, gotta have it creations speak for themselves. Beautiful and easy to wear, I now own my pair of Dolmen by Fabi Mauricio shoes and am rocking it here in San Fran.
Her own baby, the brand Tresse which was recently launched is making me crave more and more of her creations. I am pretty sure they will go global soon, but for now I am getting my fix through the mail!

The Look - Ethnic Spice

Looking at the pictures of the D&G show, I had this urge to put together an ethnic look this week. I wore a colorful scarf wrapped around my head, a chunky necklace and an orange nylon purse. To counter-balance I had an all-white dress and light brown sandals. What do you guys think?

Travel Guide - Bouchon Bistro LA

One of the places I probably enjoyed the most in LA was a fabulous French bistro style restaurant called Bouchon Bistro. The outdoor tables under the sun umbrellas, the red and white menu, the properly dressed waiters, the very present and very charming sommelier, everything had a special detail-oriented touch.
We came to have a late lunch after chilling by the hotel's rooftop pool all morning, lingering with our over-sized cappuccinos and our sunnies. I wasn't sure on what to expect, since we have so many different style French places in San Francisco and I was very pleased with this delightful surprise.
On the menu anything from escargots to french fries. We were greeted with a branch shaped bread and butter, the sequel was their charcuterie plate which was the perfect combo of dry sausages and prosciutto. The main course was a quiche so light that melted making chewing completely unnecessary. The grand finale was the oven cooked pear with chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream. A true feast for the taste buds.

Doesn't all look Yummy????

Now onto my look:

The Look - Bebel Gilberto's Concert

Hi all! Towards our trip to LA, I was researching interesting things to do since our Friday night was pretty much free. So I found out that the bossa nova Brazilian star Bebel Gilberto was playing at UCLA, which was about 20 minutes away from where we were staying. Why not, I told myself. And off we went!

Here you can see this amazing clutch in detail

And also my makeup, a combination of white, silver, a dash of glitter and a little rosy red for the lips. Do you guys like it?

Travel Guide - Opening Ceremony LA

The talk of town both in New York and LA is one of the coolest stores in the country: Opening Ceremony. Conveniently located on one of LA's most famous streets: La Cienaga boulevard (where antiques meet furniture meet hairdressing salons), this store is a true gem. There are two whole floors of the latest trends, and most importantly, the yet-to-be trends.
Here you'll find Kenzo latest collection, Proenza Schouler's leather clutches, Repetto ballet flats, books, cosmetics and great souvenirs your friends you'll love. I have to confess this store may be a little to avant gard for some, the salesman in the long grey knit skirt was a bit of a shocker to my husband, I just nodded.

The main store window display, love the bunny!

The upper floor, mmm and that yellow leather jacket is still on my mind
